The 2014 Chevrolet Cruze is the latest appearance on the emerging diesel market in the United States. In Europe, diesel engines outsold gasoline long ago, because of their superior fuel economy. Even if it costs more to build a diesel, in the long run it balances their higher initial price. Chevrolet has been dominated by Volkswagen until recently when it entered the market for affordable diesel sedans, where the Jetta TDI was the only player. On paper, the Cruze seems to have an advantage.

The 2014 Chevrolet Cruze has more J.D. Power Initial Quality Awards than any other brand, because it is committed to quality. Customers are looking for advanced features, performance, inventive designs and quality without any sacrifices. The car’s design is pleasant and well-proportionate, centered by a grille and swept-back lamps. The angles, lines and curves are more than pleasant to the eye: they also improve aerodynamics and optimize fuel efficiency. The RS Apparence Package includes a rear spoiler, front and rear fascias and rocker moldings

A new technology maximized the efficiency of the 2.0-liter I-4 Turbo Diesel and boasts the best fuel economy, with 36 MPG highway (38 with automatic transmission). Its engine has the performance of a V-6 and the efficiency of a 4 cylinder, because of the latest clean diesel technology. The 2.0L turbocharged clean diesel releases151 horsepower and 264 lb.ft. torque. The 2014 Chevrolet Cruze also has an available 138-hp, 1.8-liter I-4 and 138-hp and 1.4-liter I-4 regular gas engines paired with 6-speed manual w/OD and 6-speed automatic.

Fuel economy and emissions are lowered by the Continuously Variable Valve Timing (VVT) and smart alternator technology (Regulated Voltage Control). Moreover, Electric Power Steering uses an electric motor instead of an engine-driven belt. Besides the superior fuel efficiency, the engine’s emissions are below environmental standards due to a new technology that allows selective catalyst reduction and exhaust gas recirculation. The diesel engine can generate at least 90% less Nitrogen Oxide emissions than previous generation diesels.

If you take the 17″ alloy wheels into account, no vehicle has ever been so efficient and fun to drive. The race-proven Z-link rear suspension and rack-mounted Electric Power Steering further enhance the driving experience. On the inside, the 2014 Chevrolet Cruze has enough room to fit your life. It even has more cargo space passenger room than the Toyota Corolla and Ford Focus Sedan. The Chevy is equipped with state-of-the-art safety features, including 10 standard airbags, rear vision camera, StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control System, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Automatic Crash Response System and Side Blind Zone Alert, receiving a 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score for safety.
