The 2014 Subaru Impreza WRX comes in 5 trims: Base, Premium and Limited, STI and STI Limited. The car features a new turbocharged 2.5 engine that delivers 265-hp and is paired with a five-speed manual transmission. The STI is powered by a 2.5-liter horizontally opposed four-cylinder engine that delivers 305-hp and is mated with a six-speed manual transmission. Subaru uses Driver Controlled Center Differential (DCCD) system, the world’s only hybrid mechanical/electronic limited-slip differential, according to the automaker. The center differential allows drivers to choose front to rear torque distribution. EPA estimates its fuel consumption at 19 mpg city/25 mpg highway for the base car and 17 mpg city/23 mpg highway for the STI.

The 2014 Subaru Impreza WRX is available as a sedan and a hatchback. This premium looking sports car has huge fenders that give it a squat look. The upright glasshouse contrasts with the performance kit. The 2014 WRX STI may actually be one of the most attractive models in its family. Out back, the sedan has a giant wing spoiler and flared fenders. The all-wheel drive WRX has a wider stance and looks more aggressive than other Impreza’s. Top Limited models include a moonroof, heated power mirrors, a windshield-wiper de-icer and fog lamps.

The 2014 Subaru Impreza WRX has a base price of $26,790 and comes with power windows, 17-inch alloy wheels, locks and mirrors, Bluetooth streaming, rear spoiler for the hatchback, sport-tuned suspension, tilt/telescopic steering wheel, automatic climate control, cruise control, rear wiper/washer (hatchback) and 5-speed manual transmission. The 2014 Subaru Impreza WRX Premium costs $29,290 and adds heated side mirrors, fog lights, a power sunroof, heated seats, a rear spoiler (sedan) and windshield de-icer.

The Limited is rated at $30,290 and comes with extra HID headlights and leather seating. The STI has other options besides the more powerful engine and 6-speed manual transmission, including Brembo brakes, adjustable VDC stability and traction control, the center differential and SI-Drive. According to our best car reviews, the STI hatchback ($37,290) has a stiffer suspension and BBS wheels. The more expensive Limited sedan ($38,640) comes with a power sunroof and leather seating.
